Lung Cancer – Quick Overview A serious disease where abnormal cells grow uncontrollably in the lungs Most commonly linked to smoking, but also pollution and occupational exposure Symptoms: persistent cough, chest pain, breathlessness, coughing blood, weight loss Main Types: Non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) – more common Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) – more aggressive Spread: Can metastasize to brain, liver, bones Diagnosis: X-ray, CT scan, biopsy Treatment: surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy Prevention: avoid smoking, reduce exposure to pollutants, regular screening in high-risk patients
